George A. Sarosi, MD


Dr. George Sarosi is Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and Chief of Medical Service at Indianapolis VA Medical Center, both in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Sarosi earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota, where he also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical School. He then earned a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, which was followed by four years of residency in medicine at the University of Minnesota, where he was also Chief Resident. Preceded by two years service in Communicable Diseases Center (Center for Disease Control), he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota. Subsequent to that, he served on the faculty of the University of Texas-Houston, Stanford University, and, presently, Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Sarosi is a member of several professional organizations, including the Western Association of Physicians, ACCP-SEEK Pulmonary and Critical Care, and the American Thoracic Society, where he is Chairman of the Committee on Fungal Diseases. Furthermore, he is the author of approximately two hundred and fifty publications ranging from journal articles to book chapters to books. His work can be found in Clinical Infectious Disease, Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and American Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Sarosi has sat on several editorial boards and was Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly, Seminars in Respiratory Infections. He is a reviewer for multiple journals such as the Annals of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Medicine, and Chest.
