Michael E. Klepser, PharmD
Dr. Michael Klepser is Professor of Pharmacy at Ferris State University College of
Pharmacy in Big Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Klepser received his doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in 1992. He then completed a pharmacy practice residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center in Detroit, Michigan, which was followed by a fellowship in infectious diseases at Hartford Hospital, in Hartford, Connecticut.
Through his research endeavors, Dr. Klepser has been awarded numerous grants and has established himself in the areas of antifungal pharmacodynamics, antimicrobial resistance, and healthcare resource utilization. He has published extensively on these topics in journals such as Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Pharmacotherapy, and the Journal of Infectious Disease Pharmacotherapy. He serves as a scientific reviewer for several scientific meetings and journals including Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, and Pharmacotherapy. Additionally, Dr. Klepser is active in several professional organizations including the American Society for Microbiology, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, for which he currently serves as Chair. Also, in 2005, Dr. Klepser was named the Visiting Expert in Infectious Diseases for Singapore Ministry of Health.
