Elizabeth S. Dodds Ashley, PharmD
Dr. Elizabeth Dodds Ashley is Assistant Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Campbell University
School of Pharmacy in Buies Creek, North Carolina. In addition, she is Associate
in Research and Clinical Pharmacist, Division of Infectious Disease, Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Dr. Dodds Ashley received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Bouvé College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Northeastern University
in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at Duke University Medical Center and a specialty
residency in infectious diseases, internal medicine, and academics in a combined program with Duke University Medical Center
and Campbell University School of Pharmacy. In addition, she received her Master’s of Health Science in Clinical Research from
Duke University in 2006.
Dr. Dodds Ashley currently serves as a reviewer for Pharmacotherapy and Annals of Pharmacotherapy and sits on the Editorial Board of Infectious Disease News. Her research has appeared in journals such as Pharmacotherapy, Journal of Pharmacy Practice, Current Opinion in Pharmacotherapy, Nutrition in Clinical Practice, and Transplantation. She is the Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Residency Research Committee and Co-Chair of the Antimicrobial Evaluation Team at Duke University Medical Center. Her main area of research interest is the treatment and prevention of invasive fungal infections, specifically in transplant populations. In 2003, she received the Abbot Research Award from the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists to further her studies of aerosolized amphotericin B lipid complex as fungal prophylaxis. She has been named Preceptor of the Year at both Campbell and Duke Universities. Dr. Dodds Ashley is professionally affiliated with the American College of Clinical Pharmacists, Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists and the Triangle College of Clinical Pharmacy.
